It was a beautiful spring day, so rare for NYC, which goes way too quickly from bitterly cold to hot and muggy.

My days are now filled with new routines. I guess it’s a sign that the “Pause” has been going on for a while.

One routine is talking on the phone while I take my daily “sanity” walk. I did that again today, so I didn’t take any pictures, except for one when I went downstairs again later. The daytime pictures here are from yesterday.

One thing I did today that wasn’t routine (I hope) is drop my phone and crack a corner of the glass.

Shopping these days is not routine either. My paper masks came in last night. A friend who ordered the same masks was not so lucky. Her shipment got held up at the border. I walked over to my friend’s building tonight to drop off some to tide her over. The normally busy Queens Boulevard was almost empty:

Also in package-delivery news, I got a strange email today from Amazon on the last two remaining items in my March 27 Amazon Pantry order:

Hi Jorie, Unfortunately, a problem occurred during shipping and we had to cancel your delivery. The package is being returned, and we will issue a refund within 3–5 business days after the return is processed. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.

That’s so mysterious. What could have happened? Did the shipment get contaminated? Did the driver go on strike? It sounds kind of ominous.

I missed one of my routines today — watching the daily Covid-19 news conference by my television boyfriend, Gov. Cuomo. I will probably watch it later to avoid any fear of missing out.

I had my second online meeting of my “philosophy for the people” group. This, too, is becoming a new “Pause” routine. We used to meet in person about once a month. Now we are planning to meet on video every week. It’s a good group, and the meeting boosted my mood.
