Westward Ho: Lost in Rego Park

Woodhaven Blvd.

It was 85 degrees today, so within a single week we’ve had both snow and our first day of summer weather.

For my walk, I crossed over into the neighborhood that I think of simply as “West of Yellowstone Blvd.” in search of the hills that give Forest Hills its name. I was looking for some gentle exercise that would get my heart and breathing rate up a little — nothing too strenuous.

I passed a couple of new buildings under construction. Here’s one:

I meant to swing over on a side street into Forest Hills Gardens, but somehow I ended up all the way over on 63rd Drive in Rego Park:
